He was on time, very knowledgable about historical sites, so he gave a lot context that we wouldn't have if we had driven ourselves. He also took us to some great spots that we werent aware of and some amazing restaurants on our way back from the day trip. Ask for Jimmy if you can get him. If not, you will be in good hands regardless, we will for sure be booking with this company when we come back with our kids.

The Athens Lycabettus Hill stands at 277 meters (745 ft) and is the highest hill of Athens. That offers a spectacular panoramic view of Athens all the way to the Saronic sea, the Acropolis Hill, the whole city of Athens and the surrounding mountains.
Our Athens day tour next stop is the UNESCO listed Acropolis Hill to admire up close the famous temples of Parthenon, Propylaea, Erechteion, Athena Nike, the Odeon of Herodes Atticus and the Dionysus Theatre. Acropolis usually needs at least an hour.
Right across the northeast exit of Acropolis, lies Areios Pagos or Mars Hill, and this is the hill where the Apostle Paul preached Christ’s word for the first time in Greece. Read more on our Apostle Paul Footsteps Private Tour here
The next stops are the nearby gigantic temple of Zeus and the Arch of Adrian, the all-marble Panathenaic Stadium that hosted the first modern Olympic games in 1896, the Greek Neoclassic Parliament on historical Syntagma Square and the changing of the guards and the Athens Trilogy with the impressive Doric and Ionic columns.

If there is enough time, we can take you to visit and shop at the tiny alleys of Plaka old city and the iconic Anafiotika area that takes you back when Athens was just a small village under the Acropolis!
Our Athens private tour takes you to all the Athens essential monuments in the comfort of our luxurious brand-new vehicles and with live commentary of our English-speaking professional drivers!
We pick you up at the Port or Airport, or your Hotel/Airbnb in Athens at a convenient time.
Beginning the Athens tour you have the chance to admire the magnificent panorama of the city from Lycabettus hill at 745 ft. (277 m). Lycabettus stands high above Athens, commanding a clear view across the Attica basin and the Aegean.
Acropolis, a UNESCO Monument of World Heritage and a symbol of democracy and Greek civilization.
It includes four of the greatest masterpieces of classical Greek art – the Parthenon (Temple , dedicated to the goddess Athena) , the Propylaea (the monumental gateway to the Acropolis), the Erechthio (Temple dedicated to both Athena and Poseidon) and the Temple of Athena Nike (Victorious in Greek).
Upon exit from the sacred hill of Acropolis, you walk up the steep Areios Pagos rock (there are stairs )just as Apostle Paul did and preached Christ’s word for the first time in Greece.
From the top of the rock, you can see the Acropolis and a panoramic view of Athens.
Continuing our Athens Tour you will visit the gigantic Temple of Olympian Zeus and Adrian’s Arch.
The Temple was designed to be the biggest temple in ancient time.
The only stadium in the world built entirely of marble.
The Stadium hosted the first modern Olympic Games in 1896 and today is used as the final point of the Athens Authentic Marathon.
You will see the impressive shift change of the traditionally dressed guards (evzones) in front of the Greek parliament and the Marble Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. From there, you visit the Athens Trilogy, the Academy of Athens, the University and the National Library, wonderful neoclassical buildings.
In the heyday of ancient Athenian culture and power (roughly 500 B.C.E. to the mid-300s B.C.E.), the agora was the centre of all aspects of public life.
It was the centre of economic life and served as a bustling marketplace. The most important buildings are Stoa of Attalos, a reconstruction of the ancient building, completed in 1956 by the American School of Classical Studies and the Temple of Hephaestus, commissioned by Pericles and completed in 415 BC.
If there is time left, you will have an hour of free time in the ancient neighbourhood of Athens close to Acropolis, named Plaka.
Plaka is full of people, music, typical restaurants “tavernas”, beautiful houses, cosy cafes and little shops with souvenirs.
You can visit Anafiotika, a small area in Plaka that reminds you of a Cycladic island.
Afterwards, we will drop you off at your residence or at the airport.
