He was on time, very knowledgable about historical sites, so he gave a lot context that we wouldn't have if we had driven ourselves. He also took us to some great spots that we werent aware of and some amazing restaurants on our way back from the day trip. Ask for Jimmy if you can get him. If not, you will be in good hands regardless, we will for sure be booking with this company when we come back with our kids.

and the stunning Cave of the Lakes

10 Minutes Before Event Time
Driving for about an hour we reach our first stop at Corinth Canal.
A project that spanned many centuries, it was conceived by a ruler of Ancient Corinth, begun by Roman emperor Nero, and completed in 1893. The canal separates mainland Greece from the Peloponnese. It has a length of about six km (four miles) and a depth of eight meters (26 ft).
Today, only small yachts and boats can cross due to its shallow waters
About an hour later we reach Diakofto, a pretty seaside village where you will get aboard the popular “Odontotos” small train, a gauge rack railway.
Odontotos runs through the gorge of Vouraikos and the village of Zachlorou. The train covers the 22 kilometre trip in about an hour, with a short stop at Grand Caves (Mega Spilaion Monastery) and ends up in Kalavryta where your driver will be waiting for you. (Entrance Ticket: 9.5 euro pp)
After the exciting train trip is over, you will explore Kalavryta, a place famous for its striking natural beauty, its abundance in waters, its ski resort and its historical importance for Greeks. On 13th December 1943, the German 117th Jäger Division executed nearly all-male population and resulted in the total destruction of Kalavryta.
There is a Memorial in Kalavryta and Holocaust Museum which you can visit if you wish (Entrance Ticket: 3 euro pp).
You can enjoy a Greek lunch at a traditional local tavern.
Leaving Kalavryta, our next stop is the Cave of the Lakes, with its mysterious galleries and multicolour chambers, the imposing stalactite and stalagmite formations.
The cave’s explored length is 1,980 meters. Human fossils, as well as fossils of a variety of animals (among which a hippopotamus), were found on the cave’s lower floor.
During wintertime, when the snow melts, the cave is transformed into a subterranean river with natural waterfalls. In the summer, part of the cave dries up revealing stone basins and dams up to 4m in height.
What makes this cave quite unique is that has three different levels with lakes on every level, 13 in total (Entrance Ticket: 9 euro pp).
